An app for iPhone and Android
ArabicPro takes you from the alphabet to the words of the Quran, five minutes at a time. Letters you recognise by ear, words you meet again inside a verse, and reviews that come back at the right moment.
The alphabet is free, in full. No card asked.
Three courses, one path
First
All 28 letters, their forms by position in the word, the short vowels, sukun and shadda. You hear every letter, spoken by a human voice, before you are asked to recognise it in writing.
Free, in full.
Second
The reference textbook of the Islamic University of Madinah, nineteen chapters cut into playable lessons. You move chapter by chapter, with verses recited, never read by a machine.
Premium.
Third
Quranic vocabulary ordered by frequency. The heaviest words first: a few hundred entries cover half of the text. Every word is met again inside a verse.
Premium.
The method
No endless lessons. A session fits in the time of a coffee. The dial shows your week on the outer ring and today's goal on the inner ring: all of "today" in a single glance.
Every letter is spoken by a human voice, and you hear it before you are asked to recognise it. Verses are recited, never read by a machine.
Every letter and every word you learn enters a spaced review queue. The app hands a card back just before you would forget it, never sooner. The number of waiting cards is visible the moment you open the app.
A card comes back at growing intervals: each time you get it right, it moves further away.
Inside the app
Five screens, as they are. The app is in English and French; these captures are in French.
The price
To start, and to read.
To go all the way to the text.
A subscription, no commitment. The price is shown in the app, in your currency. Payment goes through the App Store or Google Play, never through us.
Questions
No. The first course starts at the first letter. If you can already read, the app asks you at the start and takes you straight to the Madinah Book or the words of the Quran.
Lessons and letter sounds work without a network. Verse recitations need a connection, and the app tells you so instead of leaving you waiting.
English and French. The interface and every translation exist in both languages, and you can switch at any time in the settings.
A human voice, for every letter. Verses are recited, never read by a machine.
Your account, your progress and your preferences. Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, no location, no contacts, no photos. You can delete your account from inside the app, and everything is erased. The detail is in the privacy policy.
Yes, whenever you like, in your App Store or Google Play settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. You keep the alphabet and your reviews.
Dawn
Five minutes, one letter, and the dial keeps count.
The alphabet is free, in full. No card asked.
